In my life it went the other way: "Mother is the necessity of invention." But that is for a different website...
The idea in regarding is that if you need to invent something or produce new results, increasing your necessity would be a great strategy.
But that idea can lead to the ordinary impulse of increasing the intensity of your Victim story, thinking that the greater need you have, the more pain and suffering you are buried in, the bigger your bills are, the more trouble you are in, that these are all beneficial forces for manipulating someone else, or even the Universe, to helplessly submit to your theatrical beggar position and Rescue you.
